It's really frustrating, because "Liberal" means such different things to other countries.
For Canada, the crazy fascist wannabes are strongly connected to the conservatives on the far right, whereas Liberal tends to be leftward. Eventually you reach tree hugging leftism like NDP and whatnot.
Totally different use of familiar titles.
We also have that same thing when talking about "tories" etc that bear so little similarities to our local divisions using the same descriptives.
