Putin is not concerned about *Russian* security any more than a butcher is concerned about *cattle* security. Putin is concerned about himself, his class allies, and his continued rule over the Russian people.

To take seriously his concerns is to internalize the logic of the ruling class and mistake it for your own. He has no right to rule and thus no right to self-defense. Neither do any of his class rivals ruling over any other state.

You know how it became quite popular to point out that an occupying power has no right to self-defense against resistance by an occupied community, because the occupation itself is the initial act of aggression? All states, all capitalists, are our occupiers.
