Unfortunately situations like this can still happen. While we at Cuba ₿itcoin (nprofile…qre0) have been working to promote #Bitcoin adoption with the resources we have, there is clearly still more work to do.
Even without having a wallet on the phone at the moment, there are simple solutions (for example downloading a Lightning wallet like LaChispa (nprofile…nft6) and using an LN address) that could have made the payment possible.
In any case, we’re sorry you weren’t able to pay with Bitcoin after choosing the tour through BTC Map (nprofile…gk6x)
If you’d like, we’d be happy to get in touch with the guide and help them set things up properly so this doesn’t happen again in the future.
quotingAbout two weeks ago, I was in Cuba and booked a city tour through GuruWalk. Since I had found the tour on BTC Map, I assumed I would be able to pay with Bitcoin at the end.

However, when I asked the guide about it, she told me that her wallet was on a different phone. As a result, it wasn’t possible to pay with BTC, and I had to pay in dollars instead.
I was honestly quite disappointed, as I had specifically chosen this tour because it was listed on BTC Map.
