I wouldn't go so far as to say that (look at how long Putin has been in power), however, I do agree that overall modern Russia is way more conservative than most other nations right now, especially so-called Western 'democracies', all the while countries like the U.S. slip further and further into totalitarianism. It's absolutely bonkers.
