Managed to replace the battery in Mrs R’s ASUS ROG Ally after it started fizzing and stopped charging a couple of weeks ago. The new one didn’t come with the foil enclosure which made me a bit anxious but I can’t see anything online about this being particularly important - it is metal so it is not an insulator and it doesn’t seem to provide heat shielding either.
