Metoo. I have a number of admittedly smallish perl scripts that I wrote for windows 7, then 8, 10, then debian, then macos, and now debian again.
Have to change the shebang each time, and occasionally command line arg stuff because sometimes I write shitty single use scripts that become heirlooms.
I have no problem writing readable code in perl. But then I was taught to write readable structured code in FORTRAN4. Discipline matters (even when I ignore it).
I used to be a clever programmer, I learned to get over that.
