I found out that it is useful to #travel with an expired ID card. Receptions where they want KYC never look at the expiration date - for their purposes it's good enough. With this I feel safer, because invalid ID cannot be misused in the same way valid one could (when the bastards make a copy of it somehow or take a picture). I show valid passport when that is needed.
