Ever since I learned to count in te reo Māori and read some research papers on the impact of language on achievement in mathematics I strongly support teaching mathematics in te reo Māori and not this bullshit English nonsense.
What the hell is "eleven"? Or a "fifteen"?
Use a language and counting system that makes sense.
Half my time spent teaching my kids to read and do maths is telling them they're wrong because "read" and "read" don't sound the same and 11+1="twelve".
