I am arguing against vicarious pride. Pride is the emotional payout for agency. Race-pride, ancestry-pride, birthplace-pride: every one of them is a category you were assigned, not one you earned.
Besides, being white myself, I'm not erasing white inventors, I'm refusing to erase everyone else they stood on. You want a race to own the achievement? There isn't one. There's just the chain, and no single race forged it.
