My wife is Mexican and from Mexico City. The first time I went, I was blown away. Yes, I was one of those ignorant Americans who had a mental picture of what the city was like - and boy was I wrong. It's absolutely stunning, the mix of city and nature, and is my favorite city in the world. Plus, the people are just so kind.
