To be clear—this thread isn’t to get you to stop using library ebooks. The onus isn’t on you.
I have to use ebooks, if I want to read. I have problems reading regular books.
The point is that the situation, like so many others, is unsustainable. Private equity is looting the public. Libraries are no exception.
But the costs are at the front end. The library already paid Libby/overdrive, and you already paid your taxes. So go ahead. You have the right.
It’s KKR that doesn’t have the right.
