If the reality hasn't sunk in for those affected by now, it likely never will. This seems to be how they get away with this throughout history. The media is complicit and they basically write the archives of history, so when we look back in time, the truth about certain events is always obscured just enough that only a minority will examine it, and that doesn't matter to the system.
Most people just don't have the capacity to engage with it. Blessing and a curse, I suppose.
