I learned that all this is not necessarily publicly known outside of germany and even here many people don't understand if grandpa fell and broke something but refuses to see a doctor about it. A friend of mine brought up that specific example and it blew his mind when he realized why his grandpa was like that.

At least amongst my friends it lead to people talking to their grandparents about this, asking questions but also take their panic seriously and helping them through it.

I lost my grandma because she refused to take her blood pressure medication. Same reason.
