This is the ETH Merge.
September 15, 2022, Ethereum upgraded, switching from the old energy-hungry Proof-of-Work (PoW) to Proof-of-Stake (PoS). Before, ETH was mined by miners, but now it’s secured by validators — users who stake their coins on the platform and help verify blocks.
What did this change bring?

💪fewer new ETH are created — ~90% less, making the token more scarce
