Asked the vet if long weekends are their constraint for visiting our little town, got a "Nah, I was invited at this time by the local authorities" followed by a knowing "most people who signed up to bring their pets didn't show up, citing traffic"

Now to speak with the people here to arrange such vet visits outside of peak tourist time. Will get to know folks :)

Took us 3 hours to reach, which is usually half the time. But operations have begun, and waves of relief are washing over me!
