depends on the kind of vacation you're after! tofino's been pretty full for the past few years. it's no longer a surfer village - more of a tourist destination like banff now. that being said - offseason it might not be bad!
campbell river, on the east side of the island, is a much more relaxed spot. no huge beach though. worth a stop to see their incredible little aquarium on the wharf.

february in st john's is a tough sell tbh 😆 it's a gorgeous city, but the weather isn't very conducive to doing much outdoors. iceberg boat tours later in the year (may-sept?) are incredible.
