The key things I have used it for are:
Formatting
Brainstorming
Critiquing
I don't use it for research or to give me "answers." I use it to flesh out things where I know enough about the subject to question what it tells me. It saves me time.
It's handy, but if they can't overcome the water/power problem, I won't be too upset.
