if a decentralized currency doesn’t have a fixed supply there is zero chance of surpassing Bitcoin due to the first mover and network effect advantage… tail emissions is leveraged bet that the Xmr network narrative will beat the first mover. That can’t happen unless Bitcoin changes its supply. Which can’t happen.
It’s like Monero devs set up a toll road for a highway that goes nowhere. Sure the toll is “secure or private” but no one is using road.
People actually store all their value in bitcoin, and use lightning (over 800,000 square merchant’s activated already) there are many circular economies, ways of using it privately and the supply will never change.
