It’s actually a much bigger disagreement than that. Similar to the Protestant/Papist divide in the West, Shia have an extremely high view of the Imam’s authority. Completely different eschatology and marginally different doctrines of God too.
They don’t fight as much as many would have you believe, in spite of that. Most consider the other side valid Muslims.
