I have a stupid idea but you might like it.
You know how classic Mac OS let you collapse a window to its awkward title bar?
How about a button that folds a window into origami? The window contents would be visible on the folded sides and the user could select the shape, so maybe they pick the boat for their journal and the crane for their code editor and the pinwheel for a video game, and they double click them to unfold them 😁
