There are people trying to build smaller and simpler sites ( smolweb, small web) which is great for personal websites. This isn’t realistic for corporate sites though.
I’d like to see a culture of budgeting — so that websites try to download no more than N Kilobytes e.g. 400 KB of Javascript.
