I was nearly going to say "fellow boomer" to indicate my "B-word privilege". Maybe I am a self-hating old person. 😃 I have noticed a certain condescending attitude people have shown towards me in my recent advancing years, so I know what you mean.
Actually we have had this dance before, I seem to recall, and I think I expressed to you my view that older people are the privileged ones, and that generally if we cop some flak it is from people who are punching up. But I am not 100% convinced by my own argument, so your objections do give me pause.
This also reminds me of Frank Zappa's appearance in the Monkees' film "Head", where he tells Davy Jones: "your song was pretty white", and Davy replies, "well, so am I, what can I tell you?" A great moment in popular culture. 1968!
