Delusions aren't totally irrational, they have a secondary gain to them or they wouldn't exist. People don't believe falsehoods without some kind of benefit.
Imagine significantly benefiting from the delusion that the control of money should be centralized under power. Would such a person benefiting from this system see the truth in Bitcoin? No. They'll call it "rat poison squared", because it threatens their entire wealth stack.
Imagine a dole-bludger sponging off the taxpayer. How keen are they on the idea of lowering taxes? They will fight you tooth and nail, because you are threatening their very "income".
Truth peels back our manipulations and our delusions, stripping away the associated benefits.
Ultimately the benefits of delusion are short term, unstable and parasitic.
