As I have leaned into this duty to systematize over the years, I have learned an important part of it is to shield my wife and children from unnecessary burdens. I am the one that primarily keeps abreast of news, understanding new threat vectors, and thinking through how to make our home more antifragile. I make sure that my wife and I are on the same page as we systematize and that she stays well informed but without discussing every heavy subject or threat I come across. I am careful to protect her from doomerism and instead aim to always cast a positive vision as we refine the household.
An unburdened wife and children are more free to peruse joy and meaning and adventure.
