I'm very sorry to hear that.
My disconnection from Meta (including WhatsApp) has shown me which of my family and friends care enough about me to install Signal and use that instead.
Painful though it is, when people can't be bothered to install an app to communicate with you, it speaks volumes about how much you mean to them.
