I got approved for SNAP (food aid) less than 24 hours after I applied due to being $6.50 below the income cutoff for expedited application 🎉
one big effect: I'll be much better able to afford occasional non-food expenses like allergy meds (if unmedicated, my allergies here are so bad during mid to late summer that I'm incapacitated, it's unreal how bad hay fever can get)
another: I'll more easily be able to take opportunities for alone time like the one I'm having now, without having to figure out how to drag multiple kilos of food with me like I did this time.
