Well hell, I'll add my 2cents about windows dumbass forced migration. If you don't like something you see here don't @ me

I'm not going to tell anyone what to do but here are some pros and cons as I see them.

1) I've been running linux as a daily driver for many years, and I can tell you it works great for me. For many people it might be a pretty great option and It seems like lots of folks are stepping up to help too. But if you're really into gaming it may not be for you. Also some hardware may not be compatible.

2) if you're running windows 11 and you hate it there are tools to turn off some of the dumb stuff until MS adds... more dumb stuff.

3)The Hottest of takes: if you're running windows 10 it won't burst into flames the moment it stops getting update support. You will eventually (maybe quickly) become vulnerable to some attacks but a good anti-malware system MAY prevent some problems. Keeping internet connected software up to date may also help. You can temporarily just "use at your own risk" until you can make other arrangements.

4) buy a mac i guess. Nothing wrong with that. Good machines if you can afford 'em. They have their problems too.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
