In the 1950’s she rode a Harley and ran with a “rough crowd”. My mother-in-law has exciting memories of her Aunt Gertie taking her to the weekly wrestling matches in Indianapolis. These were televised on local TV and had regional celebrity wrestlers like “Dick the Bruiser”. Not the type of place that normal aunts took their nieces to in those days. These stories from the 40s and 50s are shared with each generation to this day, especially from mothers to teenage daughters. (2/x)
