Initially after my stroke I couldn’t talk at all and was paralysed to the right side of my body. I was given a card with pictures to point to by which to communicate with, most of the pictures weren’t really relevant, the only other way I had to communicate was by typing slowly with my left hand (I am right-handed) on my device. Out of this experience was born the idea for the Talk For Me app, using AI to save on typing as much as possible, and text-to-speech.
