I have Gerd.
I have to keep my weight down so I watch it. Work out every other day on a Schwinn Airdyne and lift weights. Hate it but necessary. Also, certain foods will have it act up. So I avoid them.
One thing I found out is I have to eat hours apart. Usually I eat at least 5 hours apart and limit daily calories. This helps. People with Gerd process food slower than normal.
