I really like the way this breaks the 4th wall 'in reverse' by pulling the 'outside' world into the fantasy š
As well as the games folks have mentioned that require the player to adjust settings as part of the gameplay, I think Sierra Online had a couple where an in-game character 'reached out' and adjusted the game options at some point to effect a cut-scene or similar... it's been a while!
