It's a really difficult question... I think that there were two kind of “OG’s”:

1.) Real cypherpunks who were worried about the fiat tyranny and working / hoping for something like Bitcoin to emerge.

2.) People, who were worried that something like Bitcoin would emerge. Many of these people being agents of the three letter agencies.

So, if you belonged to the latter group, you might understand Bitcoin really well, sell your Bitcoin back to the fiat system and talk all kind of nonsense about Bitcoin.
