quite pleased with my new great helm! the quality of the brass cruciform and the steel helm construction itself is all very impressive. this great helm is perfect for fighting in just my chainmail hauberk for a 1200-1300 period accurate kit, but this early great helm will be anachronistic if worn with plate armor.
for my plans to build a full plate kit, I am waiting on a later 14th century great helm that I expect will arrive to me tomorrow. I look forward to comparing the two side by side
