I hope AG WG looks very closely at EN 301 549 while developing WCAG 3. The EN’s vagueness has already eaten hours and hours of consulting time on the question “Is dark mode an accessibility setting that will be required to be honored by websites and apps?”
The answer seems to be generally, probably “Yes” (depending on your jurisdiction and how they test and if they deem it an accessibility setting).
Vague criteria are risky.
