New iPhones charge at full speed to 80% & switch to a trickle charge from there to 100% to prevent overheating. Walk past a Tesla charging at 240v and it is running a cooling system. Chevy Bolts also have battery cooling during charging.
iirc low end EVs w/o cooling, Nissan Leafs, have to wait a couple hours after a using a supercharger to cool down before they can be used.
