As an electrician, I'm tired of pulling loomex through drywall encrusted shitboxes. Let's have more stone, more brick, more large timber, with steel conduit for the electrical (makes modifications and upgrades super easy too). Hell, even concrete can be aesthetically pleasing when done right.
It's a bit discouraging to know that most of what I install will be demolished in a few decades. Lights and devices will evolve and be replaced over the years, but copper circuitry can last more than a century with minimal maintenance. Let's make buildings that can match this.
