I see now what you’re seeing between s̱ and ẕ.
So in the d̲z̲ sequence are you substituting d+uni0332 with ḏ and similarly with ẕ and then introducing the connector? That would explain thinner rendering of precomposed glyphs not matching thicker rendering of positioned connector
