I'm imagining Whit running for public office, campaigning for equal participation of men and women in public life, for equal retirement fund contributions by employers, and equal parental rights in divorce.

Women here would throw rotten eggs at you, and denounce you as a traitor and a threat to their privileges.

No, Feminism is not for equal rights. That's gaslighting. Its possible equality was only ever a motte-and-bailey position, but the mask was dropped when "gender equality" was dropped as a slogan.

There may be cultural timewarps where women have less rights than men (Afghanistan, parts of the USA), but in normal Western countries inequality is a point of pride and legislation.
