Turkiye has applied for full membership in BRICS. Russia, currently holding the rotating presidency of the group, plans extensive events culminating in the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan. Established in 2009, BRICS initially unified Brazil, Russia, India, and China, later expanding to include South Africa. As of January 1, the group has extended its membership to Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates. Russia is open to considering Turkey's membership application.
