Met the ladies I used to work with for lunch today. Freaked them out by telling them Mari's encephalitis was caused by the vaccine (two of the ladies have daughters). I tried to reassure them how rare this was. Of all the encephalitis girls we've met, this has happened only to Mari. And HPV is being eliminated in those populations that take the vaccine!
Found out one friend, a prefectural worker, had to suit up and take part in the bird flu chicken cull in Himeji.
