I have no reason to believe Mythos is anything special tbh. I think it is a larger step than normal, yes, but it is also a much larger model and costs a lot.
I think OpenAI and Google could have also done similar too, and the only reason they don’t is that it is too costly and impractical. Instead Anthropic turned it into a marketing show
