No so far you got it right. Understand every relay can have their own terms of service & privacy policy. While you are connected to each relay they can sell your info, share it with their partners & keep records of all your actions you do. Coracle already does this with it's multiple relays.

Nostr clients may automatically connect you to relays but that can be dangerous. There are such things as malicious relays which perform dns attacks. Like the relays soloco.nl & bostr.shop. You can use protection apps like rethinkDNS or invizble pro to detect these dns attacks from relays.

What nostr should do is implement a nip that relays have to request access as you need to approve connecting before you connect. Because the way it is now is relays get your info first & you have no idea whats being done. That's unethical in my eyes but thieves seem to approve & so do data harvesters who sell in bulk.
