I've been programming for years and I've run into this once but it certainly would have tripped me up and I would have been extremely confused. The only thing that saved me was syntax highlighting. Usually a string shows up as green but this didn't so I knew there was an issue straight away. From what I remember it was that speech marks were rendering different on Android to Desktop
