It has occurred to me that a lot of my striving and struggle and attempts to do more or push harder aren’t really for me, they are a odd kind of idolatry where I idealize a better version of myself and then strive to close the gap.

The thing is that the idealized version of me is always updated to be better than current me, and will always be no matter how well current me is doing…

This must stem from a deep feeling of inadequacy, so I need to forgive myself for being the actual me.
