i used to be a target of DDoS back when i shittalked a lot on irc, then i stopped doing that as much and only got max one attack a year. i feel like the issue is blown too out of proportion to justify everyone hopping to clownflare, but still a real-enough issue (especially when hosting certain things like game servers) that warrants serious alternative infrastructure. unfortunately, voxility is the only other name i know in the market, and idk how good they are. but seriously, most CF users are either deluded, or having their dynamically-generated websites slowed down by misbehaving crawlers, or using it as an alternative to a better CDN solution
