(As for meanings: modes would be similar to vi modes or VSCode multi-key shortcuts. Press A, Release A -> B has different behavior. Meanwhile chords would be similar to chorded keyboards. Press A -> B has different behavior; Release A -> B no longer has that behavior. Or such 😅)
