I’ve lived in SW Virginia for 20 years. But because I didn’t grow up here, some regional expressions and colloquialisms really pop out and I catalogue them like an anthropologist might.

The one I really adore, is that they don’t say, “I appreciate it”. Instead they say, “I appreciate you” or, really “appreciate ya”.

I love it for being more personal and less transactional.
