In France there was the concept of 100 year mortgages, a home was where you live.

Locals here in Spain Who invested in rental property have a very long term view of getting their money back.

There is "no" tax on land here, miniscule.

Things May change if the govt start doing their sums But 25% of "nothing"... And if you keep the food coming, land is an asset that pays its way and rises in line with inflation.

Can't be complacent but it's hard to beat olive groves and 300 days a year outside while living in a modest home...

Whereas northern Europe/UK and US have a very financialised view of land. Best out of it.
