Happy Fourth of July to all who celebrate (should be everyone globally). Whether you celebrate it as some half hearted part of gorging yourself on sulphates and carbs while blowing shit up or remember the real reason, no matter how perverted the overlords have become. It is about independence; Life, Liberty, and Estate/Pursuit of Happiness (oh, ain't that a debate to have!) without all the taxation, overbearing laws, and nepotism.
And, yes, I can trace my family history right back to before they arrived to the Colony of Connecticut. Even got one with a statue in a town square. Ironically, Connecticut has the highest per capital deficit of any State (this despite being the HQ of WWE 😂).
I'll be heading out to Middletown, NY tomorrow working tomorrow where more of my pre-1776 ancestors are buried in the town cemetery.
When I think of those who pontificated on freedom and liberty, published, convinced, organized, and enshrined the spirit of liberty I am reminded of our modern call to action for they taught us all that "You can just do things".
