I've seen a lot of the same rhetoric in my transition towards open source software, with people religiously attached to the idea of FOSS to such an extent that no sane middle ground exists.
I've been trying (hard) to persuade myself not to fall out of love with technology just because other people are becoming more extreme. As they are in all sorts of ways lately. But it'd tough.
